Author Louis Trubiano

Families come in many forms but strong ties will keep them together through triumphs and tragedies.

LOUIS TRUBIANO spent over forty years in the advertising industry, most of it as president of his own firm. Born and raised in Quincy, Massachusetts, he earned his bachelor’s degree from The University of Rochester and a master’s degree from Boston University’s College of Communication. He and his wife live in Canton, Massachusetts and have three daughters, six grandchildren, and one spoiled dog.

My grandparents all emigrated from Italy around the turn of the century, and I was influenced by their experiences. The main character comes to America from the same small town, at the same age, the same time and even aboard the same ship as my maternal grandfather. As a history enthusiast, the events surrounding the establishment of the North End Italian community in Boston such as the 1918 flu epidemic, the 1919 molasses flood, the rise of the Boston Mafia, and the Sacco and Vanzetti executions have always been of interest.
